The member spotlight for July goes to the chapter lovebirds; Wade and Kristen Roley.
From Kristen:
Wade and I first met in February 2009 at the first Community Relations Committee (CRC) meeting at MailSouth, which is where I work. I was late to the meeting and remember being introduced to Wade once it was over. We ended up being on the same sub-committee and at that first sub-committee meeting, talked a little more and even became Facebook friends. Over the rest of the year, we saw each other at job fairs and other BSHRM events, but we really didn't get to know each other until later.
In January 2010, Wade and I both arrived at the same time to Birmingham Recruiters Network (BRN) for the monthly meeting. Wade's usual chair ended up being taken, so he was forced to sit next to me!! We started talking and realized we lived very close to each other and enjoyed some of the same restaurants. We ended up exchanging phone numbers and started hanging out- going to dinner the very next night. We became best friends and we started dating soon after... never looking back! It's funny because Wade and I have the hardest time making decisions, but we both agree that us being together and getting married was the easiest decision both of us has ever made! On July 13, Wade and I got married in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and it was absolutely perfect with just the two of us there!
Currently, we live in Maylene with our 3 pups and so far two HR people living together has been great!!
